About Me

Me

Hello! My name is Calum Brew-Goodlet. Wild By Design is my passion project to bring food independence and environmental prosperity to as many people and properties as I can. I have always had an intense passion and sense of comfort with the outdoors, the environment, harvesting your own food, and gardening as a whole. My grandfather was one of the most incredible gardeners I have ever met, and I have always aspired to be like him and to live in a world surrounded by people who love gardening as much as he did.

In 2025 I became a qualified Arborist, having worked in the tree industry for two years and in many other landscape trades prior to that. During that time I had begun reading books on permaculture by Bill Mollison and many others, and a new obsession started to form. I soon became completely enthralled in the visions and principles of permaculture — not only in its benefits to gardens and properties, but also to people and community. I eventually made the decision to move away from my job as an Arborist and take the leap to offer my knowledge of permaculture and garden design, helping people to design their properties with more thought and intention, hoping to create food prosperity and true independence.

I am still learning. Gardening and permaculture are practices in which you never stop learning — it is about perception and pattern recognition, and working with natural systems to allow nature to do as much of the work as possible. What I offer is one-on-one design consultation, complete property design, design implementation, and ongoing support to ensure the health and productivity of the system.
